The diamond-film coating on these drill bits provides an extremely hard, smooth surface that protects the bits from wear and helps prevent chips from sticking to the bits when drilling nonferrous metals and composites. The bits have fast-spiral flutes that evacuate chips more quickly than standard spiral flutes as the bits drill into a workpiece. They also have a straight shank that installs into a drill chuck or similar toolholder.
