These bits have a hollow shaft and dust-extraction holes at their tip that allow dust to be removed with a dust extractor during drilling. This reduces both the amount of dust that is released into the surrounding air during drilling and the amount of dust that must be cleaned out of the hole prior to setting the anchors. The bits' SDS-Max shank prevents them from slipping in high-torque drilling applications when creating holes for setting concrete screw anchors. These bits install into compatible rotary drills or rotary hammer drills with SDS-Max chucks, and they can be changed in the chucks with one hand. SDS-Max chucks have spring-loaded balls that fit into the grooves on the bits' shanks to hold the bits in place in the chucks.
