The TiAlN/AlCrN multilayer coating on these drill bits protects the bits from wear and extends their life when drilling steel and cast iron. As one layer of the coating wears down, a new layer is exposed. The bits have spiral flutes that evacuate chips as the bits drill into a workpiece, and they have a straight shank that installs into a drill chuck or similar toolholder.
