These helical-flute thread mills have a WXS coating that protects the thread mill from wear and provides maximum heat resistance when milling nickel-based alloys and hardened steels with a Rockwell hardness of more than 50HRC. It is harder and has a higher oxidation temperature than a TiAlN coating. The thread mills are made from carbide, which offers excellent wear resistance, heat resistance, and hardness.
