The EgiAs coating on these drill bits resists oxidation at high temperatures and provides excellent hardness and heat resistance. The coating protects the bits from wear in high-speed drilling applications with steel, cast iron, and hardened steel with a Rockwell hardness of 35 to 50 HRC. These drill bits do not have coolant holes, so a separate hose is required to bring coolant to the bits' tip if it is needed. Spiral-flute drill bits evacuate chips as the bits drill into a workpiece.
