Helical-flute drill bits create smaller chips and evacuate them more quickly than standard spiral-flute drill bits. These drill bits have a TiAlN coating that withstands high temperatures and protects the bits from wear during high-speed, dry machining applications with difficult-to-machine ferrous metals. The bits do not have coolant holes, so a separate hose is required to bring coolant to the bits' tip if it is needed.
