These carbide chucking reamers have a TiAlN finish that withstands high temperatures and protects the bit from wear during high-speed, dry machining applications with difficult-to-machine ferrous metals. A TiAlN finish can be an economical alternative to an AlCrN finish. Straight-flute chucking reamers push chips forward into a hole as they enlarge it to an exact size for a precise fit when installing fasteners or other parts. They are the most commonly used style of reamer. These carbide reamers have a straight shank that mounts to the chuck of a drill press or similar machining tool.
