These straight-flute thread mills have a staggered-tooth design that reduces side-cutting pressure in thread-milling applications. They can be used for internal and external threading applications. The thread mills have a bright finish that provides a smooth, polished surface. They are suitable for general purpose applications at slower speed in nonferrous materials. These thread mills have a carbide head that offers excellent wear resistance, heat resistance, and hardness, and they have a high-speed steel shank. Carbide-head thread mills provide more wear resistance than carbide-tipped thread mills and tolerate more vibration and shock than carbide thread mills.
