The thread mills have a bright finish that provides a smooth, polished surface. They are suitable for general purpose applications at slower speeds in nonferrous materials. Carbide-tipped thread mills have carbide cutting edges that provide excellent hardness and heat resistance. The thread mills' body and shank are made from high-speed steel, which allows these thread mills to tolerate more vibration and shock than carbide or carbide-head thread mills.
