These straight-flute thread mills have a staggered-tooth design that reduces side-cutting pressure in thread-milling applications. They can be used for internal and external threading applications. The thread mills have a TiAlN coating that withstands high temperatures and protects the thread mills from wear when milling hard materials. The TiAlN coating allows the thread mills to be used at faster speeds than thread mills with a bright finish. Carbide-tipped thread mills have carbide cutting edges that provide excellent hardness and heat resistance. The thread mills' body and shank are made from high-speed steel, which allows these thread mills to tolerate more vibration and shock than carbide or carbide-head thread mills.
