These taps are designed for tapping nickel and titanium. They have a CrC/C coating, which is a multilayer coating with a base layer of titanium nitride (TiN) and an outer layer of chromium carbide carbon (CrC/C). It protects the taps from wear when tapping titanium, titanium alloys, and nickel.
