Left-hand spiral-flute high-speed steel taper pipe reamers push chips into a hole as they enter a workpiece, making them suitable for reaming through holes. These pipe reamers enlarge, finish, or shape a hole in a pipe section to a specific size so the hole can be tapped with American Standard pipe taps. They are made from high-speed steel, which provides good wear resistance in general purpose applications, and they have a 3/4" taper to the foot.
